Country Writer,
"Do I think my commercial real estate is in a bubble and residential real estate is a bubble.?"
My commercial real estate isn't in a bubble. Commercial is driven much more by returns than emotion. I purchased it in Sept 1986, a factory on the outskirts of town, mostly surrounded by vineyards, now it's at the corner of a major intersection, and a supermarket, part of the Woolworths chain has approval to build right opposite. Nice.
Not only that, even though it's now quite old it's still bringing in rent that paid off the mortgage 15 years ago. It's made me a small fortune and it just keeps on keeping on.
You buy property right you can make a killing, I've done it a few times, with gold, you put it in the safe, and hope the world melts down. Seems quite strange behaviour to me.
People need property, they don't need gold, it contributes a big fat zero to the economy, like Warren Buffett says, you dig it out of the ground and then you bury it again.
