re:cefadog - hick's trial rigged what a surprise
Cefa, to be fair, many Australian citizens who were Serbs took leave to go to Bosnia and Kosovo and "did their thing" with an AK. Also, many Australian citizens who were Croatian Muslims did the same. It was on record in the press at the time that the Australian Govt. was fully aware of this, but no action was taken. Why? Probably because of the large relevant ethnic electoral constituencies. Now, that was the way Hicks entered into the scheme of things, via Kosovo. Then, he continued into Afghanistan.............but Australia was not involved in any way at the time. But many Australians did exactly what he did and were not punished. Punish Hicks, and you'll have to do the same to them. There are many Australians who have had more than a passing involvement in Angola and the Congo. Ya want to gaol them too? To my knowledge, Hicks did NOT act against Australia.
