The following report from Des Gleeson has been posted under my name for reasons explained in the preamble.

"Good evening/morning to all Hot Copper Ladies & Gentlemen (like there’s plenty of them here)
My name is Des Gleeson and as you might be aware I was recently seconded to investigate the multiple protests that have been launched on this thread.
Before announcing my final decisions, and please note they are FINAL (!), there are one or 2 things that need to be said about the Hot Copper administration.
The 1st thing is that I’m Des Gleeson & I make the bloody rules. I decide who races, I decide who doesn’t race and I decide who gets to breath our infinite supply of oxygen. Basically I make the rules on EVERYTHING!
    1) Who, what or when was the rule made that new posters can’t vote or post until at 48 (maximum!!!) Hours have expired?
    2) Having been registered at about 11.00am on Tuesday 21/8, why is it that Des still can’t post at 10.00pm on Sat 25/8(time of writing on a word document).----Unbelievable & if this sort of thing happened at some ‘out of the way’ Race Courses (Towong was always my favourite) the offender would be taken out the back of the committee room and given a sound thrashing.
    3) I believe my 5th in charge, Alice Trapper, made it quite clear that the protest result would be published at 11.59 tonight. When Des gives a commitment, that’s it—Locked in stone, the commitment is met!—Young Ballieu—the young fellow who is now premier, will be hearing of this & HC administration staff should be mindful of the upcoming legislation for Corporal Punishment to be once again legalised.

Now for the results of the lengthy enquiry into the running of the
Timber 156: 1st out of the gates. Dropped back quickly before making ground mid race—but died on his run as if shot. 6 weeks suspension for failing to ride out his mount to the line.
Big Lebowski: Began well & made much of the running. Couldn’t shake off Leanne Dawn& this pair showed whats make racing great. Held on for equal 1st in a gallant effort by this grand old stager. *****2 weeks suspension for not depositing any funds into Des’ slush fund,--I mean Expense Account.
Leanne Dawn: Refused to allow Big L. To dictate terms & pushed the big prickle the first 1000 meters. Fell off the pace when the whips were cracking & was not even close to the winners at the finish. Sorry Leanne but a few trainers/jockeys might equate this type of result to previous poor performances when well fancied. 18 weeks suspension for pulling your horse up.
Brother B: Hardy worth paying the acceptance fee was it Brother? Suggest you try a maiden at Pinjarra next time. ***** 2 weeks suspension, no funds deposited as per Big L. Above
Adam 2010: Very punchy effortwho lunged at the line to just make the dead heat for 1st, due to camera friendly comment. *****
Alice Trapper: Who is this little harlot? Should stick to ’having a good time’ with 5 jockeys at a time. No suspension & thanks for the cash you whore.
The_Caeser: Came with a sustained runfrom the 1000 meter mark under extremely hard riding—Needs to show a bit more care in the future as was nearly disqualified with 500 meters to go. Stayed the distance & tied for 1st. ***** + extra 2 weeks for having an ‘underscore’ in his name which took Des 10 minutes to get right when preparing this report.
MC Cammer: Fell out of the gates & ran like Mick Nolan. Not up to this class. 2 weeks suspension for blasted poor effort.
Matchbox 20: Slowly away, confusing early tactics. Made up good ground at the top of the straight but couldn’t go on with it. ***** with 1 week discount coz Des reckons hisband put out one of the best albums he’s heard.
Warnie: One spurt of sheer brilliance & he tied for 1st place. God help the rest of you if he ever gets fit. 6 weeks suspension for being a South Australian.
Ducktails: Subject of a massive & suspicious betting plunge. Didn’t let punters down & unleashed a withering run to the line to tie for 1st. Probably the ‘one to watch’ for future W.F.A. classics. *****
Yorick: Scratched at the barrier. Suspended for 2 years for inane post constantly reminding all other runners that he’s the defending champion. You’d have got life if you barracked for Sydney young fella so lose the ‘sign off’ ."

Alice says Don't bother complaining to the old fart cos he don't listed to no-one!
