I appreciate you posts too.
I was one of the few shareholders who called in and asked Mr Greg Pennefather questions on the occasion of his fateful open briefing phone -in event. I thought I had a rather salient perspective with my questions. When he didn't want to address my comments any more he gave me the Tony Jones "I'll take that on board as a comment".
Now perhaps it wasn't meant in the smart Alec way that it sounded to me ...but the reality is, if I had presided over such an egregious loss of company value as the management of ERJ have, I would have zero clever attitude and flamboyance when talking to shareholders.
I commented about the non-insulated exposed piping because it jumped out at me when I saw the photo, and it looked like a potential balls-up in the making. If you remember "Opcon 1" that was sent out here without a snowballs hope in hell of being engineered for Australian conditions then you woud know that ERJ have form in the SNAFU department.
As I said, they probably have it in hand, but my experience is that ego prevents management from acting (or acknowledging) on an external suggestion [most companies/organisations/universities etc that I've experienced].
If only we worked on "what " is right rather than wasting so much bravado on "who" is right (but that's another story).
ERJ apparently read Hot Copper so I'll let them examine any issue if they haven't already considered it -then it will be their idea and they might address it properly.
Here's hoping for a company that has; learned from all it's mistakes: marketing; engineering; financing; installation; project planning; contract negotiations; supplier negotiations ETC, and that it will be smooth sailing for the next 150 installations ...AFTER this one finally gets the flick of the switch.
