I believe this committment by LYC Management to the Malaysian People says everything.

"The principal cause of the community anxiety has to do with storage and management of residue resulting from the refining process. To address this community concern, Lynas undertakes to ensure that all the material that is causing the major concern to the Malaysian public is removed through conversion into co-products, and exported in a form acceptable for international markets and in accordance with all Malaysian regulations and international conventions. "

The principal cause of concern to many investors as well should be heartened by the above statement.

The AELB has no excuse for not issuing the TOL, because the biggest bug bear to the project has been the fact that "Whats LYC going to do with the waste". NC has now made it perfectly clear what is going to happen with it and it could NOT BE ANY CLEARER, in my humble opinion.

My understanding is that part of the high court challenge will involved what LYC is going to do with the waste, and now that is clear. Should not really have a huge hurdle in the courts with the above statement, nor should the opposition as well.
