Not sure about this but doesnt this come in during 2015 so wont effect the fiscal position until then. Predicting budget outcomes beyond three years is a waste of time as they always get it wrong lol. For the government it must come up with a surplus by next financial year, that is before the 2013 election. However, given that the Coalition believes they are shoe in to win the election, this issue shouldnt matter given Abbotts pledge that there will not be a carbon tax under the government he leads or is he telling porkies lol.

Business seems to love the change announced by the Government.
