    boatboy, the is why I said "..look at around double your 12 million claim and you will be a bit closer to being accurate..", I did not say 24 million.

    Tax is paid in many different ways, even the unemployed pay taxes. Companies pay tax, individuals pay tax, kids pay tax, pensioners pay tax, self funded retirees pay tax, etc. etc... (Almost everyone in Australia pays some form of tax, hence 22.6 million people plus companies etc.)

    So the point is kincella's 12 million tax payer figure was not even close to being accurate.



    Play2Win, I do understand kincella was only referring to individuals with taxable income, but that was an error on kincella's part if you are calculating who contributes to the tax revenue of the Australian government.

    Even if you don't pay income tax, you still pay tax in many other other ways.


    I'm not hold my figures up as exact figures, but I am holding them up as a more realistic way to approach accurate figures than what kincella presented.
