Ok, so i dont by any means doubt ECT's intention to secure funding for the DFT.. ..what does need to be considered though is the following statement:

"The Directors of ECT have agreed in-principle with Monash Capital to make a placement of 300 million fully paid ordinary shares (ESI) and 300 million listed options (ESIO) exercisable at 2.0¢ on or before 16 January 2014 for consideration of $4.0 million"

Ok what i think:
1. Monash is not as big as some players are making it out to be.. ..a bit interesting they have not updated their website since 2007
2. The language used in the ann specifies 'in-principle', this gives the impression the funding is not necessarily guaranteed, even if a $500,000 deposit is placed...
3. The date specified is 16th Jan 2014 - it could be over a year before the placement specified is made.

In short, the technology offered by ECT may be viable commercially and could be utilised and become an Australian export, but these kind of scientific endeavors take time to materialize and the specifics on this funding look suspect as.. ..this is not a process that is going to occur overnight, ECT holders could wait up to a year for the funding from Monash - even if it is now 6mil and not 4mil.

In my opinion, they are almost guaranteed to receive (if it gets approved) the government grant before they get anything from monash.

And other than their announcements we have not seen any paperwork or documents from monash in regards to this deal.. ..interesting?
