When the co sold their leases in Erie county Pennsylvania for $25mm they must have also sold a lemon to the drillers that bought it ??????

Fracking in PA and Ohio is legal and booming - they both border lake Erie. Anyone who uses the lake for drinking water must therefore be drinking contaminated water from Ohio and PA, New Yorkers included.

If a well is located on a tributary which runs into the lake it is irrelevant how far from the lake that well is

Rivers do not respect state borders therefore if the environmentalists are correct that fracking is dangerous, then why are there no complaints from residents in NY who are very close to wells in PA ?

The debate around fracking and its impact on drinking water has mostly centered around the impact it may have on the watershed for NY city which is in the Catskill region in up State NY. This area has already been excluded from fracking...... which is largely cosmetic as there is no gas there anyway.

The idea that there are 5 inland counties that will be the only counties to benefit is not true.

1. It has nothing to do with their distance from Lake Erie, it has a lot to do with their prospectivity and proximity to wells in PA.
2. It is based upon speculation by the NY Times in an article some months ago.
3. Granting of initial permits (if true) implies nothing about the granting of further permits across the state. Who said it was 5 but not the others?

There is a major gas pipeline running along the coast of Lake Erie through Chatauqua county NY (It's there for a reason)

To suggest the co has bought a "lemon" ... in other words not done their due diligence seems ridiculous to me
