For anyone who has got in over the last 2 years it could have been very painful indeed and I do feel for those people. In my opinion, a lot of this rabid fluctuation is related to the inability to hit targets with Sengkang and the HKSE listing and has been amplified by missing targets with PNG and the blatant manipulation related thereto. All equates to an ongoing lack of confidence, aided by:
1. little to no proper analyst coverage from anywhere, meaning no-one really knows what the returns from Sengkang might be, except through a little calculated guessing
2. near silence when the negative press from West emerged
3. ongoing silence in the lead up to end of FY due to the supposed HKSE "blackout"
4. a "told you so" photo shoot from Sengkang when clearly some insiders already knew that the second ship had arrived first! (reflected by the SP run-up prior and still during the silence of the HKSE "blackout")
5. then a near movie length CLSA presentation along the same old lines of old...photos galore, including references to projects not even mentioned in the (encore) Annual report (with the bitter reduction in headline net profit) and that appear to be related more to EWI than EWC or just ideas (floating LNG???), confusing investors as to exactly what is and what is not being done by the company

So in the end, all anyone can actually truly believe is what is in the Annual Report, which shows a reduction in profit and gives no guidance at all on what the "official" projects will add to the bottom line. It's hard to hold on "in hope", so no wonder there is negative pressure.
