Fisher Funds International Portfolio Team Update
Fisher Funds is pleased to confirm the appointment of Roger Garrett to the
position of Senior Portfolio Manager - International Equities. Roger is
returning with his family to live in New Zealand after 18 years in the United
Kingdom. He brings extensive experience investing in international equities
and emerging markets. His most recent role was Head of Research and Portfolio
Manager at Legg Mason International Equities where he was responsible for the
management of six research analysts and three research associates. Legg
Mason shares Fisher Funds' commitment to international and emerging market
investing and underpinning everything it does is an unshakeable belief that
fundamental research and in-depth market knowledge can help to add value
across these equity markets.
Roger officially joins Fisher Funds on October 1 and he has been working with
the international team over the last two months familiarising himself with
current portfolio holdings. He has already contributed significantly in
identifying the future shape of the international portfolio.
Roger will be working in Fisher Funds' Takapuna office with Senior Analyst -
International Equities, Manuel Greenland who joined Fisher Funds in May.
Manuel is also an experienced investment professional having spent four years
at Polo Capital in Brazil managing Latin American and South African
portfolios prior to joining Fisher Funds. Manuel was a highly rated analyst
at Deutsche Securities in Johannesburg in the industrial metals and paper and
forest products sectors, and is a CFA Charterholder. Fisher Funds is close
to hiring another analyst to further strengthen the team's research
capabilities.
With the international team close to being finalised the transitional
agreement with Ken Applegate to manage Fisher Funds' international funds will
be discontinued later this year.
