Will always be that mix, i guess you need to keep reiterating what a day trade and short term trade are really..

..i know that some people consider a day trade to include overnight holds, but at its core should only be an on the day trade in-out.

Intra one day trades would border between day trade and short term but would be more suited for short term i think..

I would say short term would be anything up to a couple of months really, down to a couple of days. Free, what are your thoughts?
