1) create a small rally and add false volume by moving shares between his own accounts to suck in new investors
2) slam the SP with multi-million share sell orders to trigger stop-losses and shake out new holders
3) buy back, usually on the same or the next day
4) return to step 1
The problem is the new investors directed to DTE by value-based analysts such as Morningstar have no idea what is lurking beneath the surface when they wade in. I certainly didn't. It's been a learning experience if nothing else. Greenies and slow as molasses bureaucrats also help them no end in their goal of plundering the small investor.
