Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (ASX:HVN) has rated poorly among its rivals in a customer service survey conducted by consumer advocate group Choice.
Shadow shoppers were deployed to comment on their shopping experience across all major retailers.
The retailer was criticised for poor product knowledge among staff and a lack of contact with customers.
Harvey Norman’s Chairman Gerry Harvey says, the results of the survey are contradictory to the feedback he receives from customers.
Wesfarmers Limited (ASX:WES) owned Bunnings was the best performing of the group with shoppers reporting a positive and informative experience.
Harvey Norman generated a net profit of $176.3 million in 2012 financial year.
