The wheat is not looking good on the Liverpool plains. The last big rain event was early July, which waterlogged everything. Been dry ever since and crops have grown on the full water profile. Problem is though that the waterlogging event and double the normal amount of frosts didn't let the plants grow as they should have to chase the stored water.

My wheat looks terrible. We plan on getting 4 or 5 tonnes per hectare in a good season. Good for us means average, well spaced rain, not a lot of rain, wet winters are bad here. I'd reckon it could go 2.5 max with a couple of inches soon, or a lot less with nothing, probably 1.5 t/h.

Crops don't look too bad if your doing 60 ks an hour past em in a ute, but it's a different story when you get out and walk around.

Flogged off all the rest of our sorghum a few days ago at $230 on farm. That's just terrific prices, but I wanted it gone so I don't have to worry about it during summer crop planting. Plus as it warms up the weevils will start to move in.
