My understanding is that NXXT trades are trades done where one side is transacted on the competitor Chi-X exchange *and the other side on ASX) through the ASX's best bid/offer system. Chi-X started with a limited number of stocks but now they are involved in smaller stocks too, hence the growing incidence of NXXT trades.
