Me too I also get frustrated by SS and annoyed at times but he makes me work harder to find out things I need to know at times too. That has great value IMO.
I personally don't think either lost that bet. It came down to a technicality - no money raised as yet however a cornerstone investor has been announced as a proposal. Not a raising by the time limit in the form SS was challenging on and no money in the bank - however near enough in some respects.
The world is not black and white it is just infinite shades of grey and the sensible view here is (just my take) - neither wrong in how it turned out and neither exactly right either.
