Business people don't make good political leaders. That should explain why we have never had a successful business person lead the country. Come to think of it, I know of no great political leader in western Europe or the US who had had a previous successful business career.
This is why Malcolm failed as a political leader the first time. He now has had two more years as a politician and hopefully will be a better leader if he returns as one.
Australia, the nation, is not a business, it should not and cannot be run as a business. Being a successful politician is a lot harder than being a successful businessman.
