Mister S, yes...way to expensive to process in Oz. Original country of processing preference was China however they introduced export quotas and tariffs/taxes on finished product export that made it cost paralyzing to build and operate there. Malaysia next choice because of (been said before):
- proximity to end customers;
- highly skilled and cheaper labour (many chemical factories in Malaysia and we are just a big chemical factory;
- govt invitations and incentives;
- local infrastructure
- etc.
Go figure...they invite us, wine and dine us and then politicise the issue until the merits and facts are unrecognisable.
