Big business regularly use staff layoffs to pressure governments. Especially when there is an election in the offing. It works a treat. Sometimes it helps to have the staff fight to keep their jobs. Softly softly certainly isn't working. Time ths spade became a shovel, a power shovel. If this sort of thing happens in one of my companies the action will certainly differ from the Lynas model.

Maybe Lynas could hire Paul Keating to fix the problem. He understands Malaysian politics.
