The carbon tax is becoming a non-issue, even Abbott rarely mentions it now & I expect given how minimal the impact has been & how difficalt it would be to rescind he will stick to that pleadge. Not that I expect him to lead at the next election anyway so it will be easier for the libs to back down on that.

Yes the cost of electricty has gone up but the amount increaced due to the carbon tax has been minimal, in WA we have had 60% or so increase over recent year not related to the CT, on July 1 we had a 9% increase & of that 2.6% was due to the CT.

Has other costs gone up? I have not noticed any, none of my suppliers have increased costs nor my personal spending.

One thing thou is that low to middle income earners now have more take home pay due to the increace in the tax free threshold & many peole will no longer need to lodge tax returns. Changing that back is not going to win votes.
