Rallies continue in support of the detained MPs and we are yet to find out when or if they will have their day in court and subsequent sentencing. The Government remains under pressure but continued detention is a step in the right direction;

Pervomaiskiy district court decides to hold Tashiev, Mamytov, Japarov in custody for 2 monthsBishkek (AKIpress) - The Pervomaiskiy district court of Bishkek on October 5 made the decision to hold Kamchibek Tashiev, Sadyr Japarov and Talant Mamytov in custody for 2 months. They will be held in the detention facility of the State National Security Committee.

Tashiev and Japarov are charged with public calls for violent seizure of power or violent change of the constitutional order and attempted violent seizure of power.

Mamytov is charged with attempted violent seizure of power.

Around 400 people rallied at the central square of Bishkek on October 3 demanding nationalization of the Kumtor. They were dispersed by police after the crowd attempted to storm the Parliament building. Some rally participants and organizers were detained, including Ata Jurt faction leader Sadyr Japarov, MPs Kamchibek Tashiev and Talant Mamytov.
