Our rather unthinking acceptance of an unworkable multiculturalism dogma does seem to be part of the problem, as is much of the cultural relativism and historical revisionism (primarily aimed at allocating all blame for all bad outcomes for any party in recent history, to the actions of those pesky white folks) that seems to be popular with certain groups.
These multiple attacks at portions of the bedrock and history of our societies seem to me to tend to reinforce the message propogated by the radical elements of the islamic community. That the west must be sublimated the the word of their religeon by whatever method seems to be most expedient.
We all in the western societies do bear a part of the blame for these radical islamists believing that theirs is a worthy cause, particularly when they see so much understanding of their alleged grievences, or at least willingness to understand, from vocal parts of our societies.
