One of my newer investing strategies - from the biotech thread:

The best 4 bio's at current prices according to my research are AVH, CTE, ADO, ANP.

The next big boom should be in biotechs.

China is planning on increasing is government health funding from $350 billion to $1 trillion p/a over the coming years, to deal with an ageing population, but probably more so in an effort to prevent civil unrest.

Like the China-fuelled mining boom, the biotech specs will run on optionality in response to the massively increased profits of entrenched drug producers such as CSL & COH (RIO & BHP).

CSL and COH are already actively expanding their operations and marketing expenditure in Asia, particularly China, in response to the increased demand, which should continue to rise exponentially.

Again, like the mining boom, Australia is in prime position to capitalise on this opportunity due to it's close proximity to China.

AstraZeneca, the UK based drug manufacturing giant, is actually expanding its plant in Australia (NSW) despite high labour costs and the high $AUD, as the location means it is still more cost effective for distribution to China.

I'm in the process of buying stakes in a few dozen speculative biotechs in anticipation of the boom - the 4 I mentioned above are standouts, however there are plenty more worth buying into, ie PYC, BIT, BDM.
