the Sufi's are an Islamic sect. They are the 'mystical' arm of that religion and would appear to be fairly broadminded and less interested in dogmatic interpretations of religious ideas - sort of the Zen of Islam. Penguin have (or had) a book by Idriess Shah entitled "The Way of the Sufi", which I would recommend.
