    Couple of things

KEY is targetting Goldwyer shale. They have a relatively large unconventional prospect there. Sure it's not anything like NSE's tenements but let's remember everything is relative, KEY is many times smaller so offcuts from what NSE mean just as much to them and any money invested in them.

BRU does have much better things to be doing than drilling Cyrene, and no it doesn't neccessarily have a lot to do with REY's tenements. BRU has a bunch of their own Ungani lookalikes to drill before they even think of the Ungani lookalikes on REY's permits, not to mention other areas with LARGE conventional prospects in the south they've been meaning to drill for years. They will of course drill in REY's tenements pretty quickly, but from a pure "hydrocarbon need" perspective they certainly don't have to, they can drill their own great prospects for years.

That said Cyrene will be a good test of the Goldwyer and is very likely to return oil shows in the coring given the shows in Hedonia. It's not a horrible thing BRU is committed to drilling it earlier than they might like with so many conventionals to chase, the unconventional oil prospectivity is huge and is likely to look positive from early tests which will tie in with what NSE is doing and give BRU a whole other unconventional story.
The 5mmbbl conventional target is small but has potential to become a regional conventional play. Once again, not enough to really move BRU significantly but would put a rocket under KEY.

This is why I diversified into KEY, OBL and REY from my main holding of BRU and smaller holding of NSE. BRU/NSE are going to be safer to have your money in but the smaller companies are going to offer more leverage sitting on the backs of the elephants. Success at Cyrene will help prove Goldwyer oil which is good for BRU and NSE, but it will be KEY that doubles or triples on a success case there. Success in REY's tenements will give BRU a good pump given the likely size of conventionals, but it will be REY that gives the quick multibaggers. When you're confident of the actions of your main holding it's a bit of an opportunity cost not to gain a bit more leverage, even though it does entail greater risk with the micro caps. Certainly wouldn't not have a main holding in BRU or NSE though.
