Many years ago, I was part of a group of young people that visited polio victims in hospital, many of whom hardly received any visitors. One person,from a distant memory,was about thirty and had been in hospital (or maybe it was a place for rehabilitation )for over fifteen years. I consider myself lucky I was past that generation.
Some of those people, unfortunately, who recovered from polio are now having a late onset of the disease.
