Eagle you posted "Moondoong unlike you I extend my best wishes to whoever wins the election. Its democracy at work."

I have never posted that the ALP didn't have the right to form government, it is simple - whomever controls the numbers on the floor of the House of Representatives gets to form a government and pass legislation.

I understand and respect the system we have in Australia.

You are confusing the process with what has eventuated since - Carbon Tax Lie, knifing of a first term serving Prime Minister, backflips on Asylumn Seekers, backflips on offshore processing, backflips on Mining Tax, escalating government debt, record budget deficits, the list goes on.

I vigorously post against what the current government is inflicting on us at the moment. That is my right, and has nothing to do with respecting the electoral system we live under.

You then posted "You also overlook the fact that Abbott is the Coalitions Achilles heel with Gillard way in front as preferred PM"

I overlook nothing of the sort. Of course Abbott is unpopular. Only Blind Freddy couldn't see this. The polling has been consistent on this for a long time. But elections are not won solely on the charisma or otherwise of the leader, especially the leader of the opposition. I have seen absolutely no research showing there is any correlation between preferred PM status and election outcomes. I would hope that when a person goes into a polling booth to vote, they do so on the basis of who their candidates are in their electorate, because we have no say in who the leaders of any of the political parties are. None at all.

It is my obvservation, however erroneous you might think it is, that the Left leaning side of politics seems to be obsessed with the cult of leadership rather than the policies, whereas the Right seem more obsessed with the policies rather than who is leading them.
