However, almost all investors would prefer to miss out on the options as opposed to investors pestering and potentially risking the deals with major companies/hospitals.

I always trust my gut feelings. My gut feeling with ALT is that there are some serious behind the scenes negotiations happening right now, and there will be a really good announcement within 1-6 months.
