    cerhob, as with pretty much any political speech, never rely on the contents regardless of the persons political persuasion.

    As I stated in my original post on this thread, it is the first time I have watched the speech.

    To me the gist of the speech was to highlight Abbott's double standards, which it did very well.

    As far as Gillard's correct use of the word, it would be more of a concern to the grammar police than most Australians. It would not be the first nor the last time a word is misused in politics.

    It is no secret that Abbott has some antiquated views about women, despite his efforts to hide some of those views.

    The age of the quotes, the context or the person they were directed at has never been a concern here on HC before. You just have to look at some of todays threads for examples.


    Personally I would not of even bother to watch the video if it was not for this thread and some of the comments posted on this thread.

    The speech doesn't deserve the attention it has been getting, nor does the contents of the speech deserve to be rated any higher in credibility than any other political motivated speech.

    To me it was just another political motivated speech that both political parties throw at each other to score political points.
