Interesting to read on German news wires that the Bundesbank is doing a first time (!) audit of the gold reserves held in New York, London and Paris

Apparently they have been relying on a ledger for the past decades without ever doing an inspection; now they want samples to assess gold purity and check the accounting system; they are only No 2 in gold reserves with I believe 3396 tonnes of the yellow stuff !
