You can do any or all of those with Regression Analysis but not with correlation. Regression can tell you how all or some variables with with each other. Correlation will only tell you how one variable moves with another.
I may have made it sound easy (speaking now to Jan), assigning values to things such as "the TOL", or court procedings (maybe in terms of various outcomes), is not an easy thing to do.
Statistics is an absolute b!tch. It is a rigorous discipline and as far as Stats goes I have only two University Statistics subjects under my belt. You can do whole degrees on this. However, I grasped the concepts well and quite enjoyed.
I find it laughable when people try to match things off and find patterns that they think hold true across multiple facets of a company's dealings with one single variable....no matter the perceived value therein.
