In the current markets, those which are determined by which levers the central bankers decide to pull next, the algorithm the latest bot trader deploys, market a big bank manipulates, or margin requirements a paper based exchange decides to adjust, long term investing is gone and capital preservation is paramount, therefore you are really forced to be a trader. I am in a very similar situation to yourself John but have not yet walked away.
