Turnbull is popular with Labor supporters, isn't he?

Unfortunately for him, his white-anting of the Coalition over the past few years and his irrational exuberance for taxing carbon dioxide mean that he will never have the support of the Liberal voting base - and he has as much chance of ever becoming Liberal leader again as I do.

Newspoll wasn't published last Tuesday, as it usually is. They put out some lame excuse a few days ago. The poll was conducted but NP claimed it's results were skewed by unusual factors - perhaps that it was completely at variance with a real poll ie in the ACT. NP had Labor and the Libs at 50/50 a month or so back as well. Nobody else did. That was regarded as a rogue poll by all serious pundits; I suspect today's will be as well. I'd say the poll NP scrapped last week was right over the top - perhaps with Labor ahead and they chose not to trash their credibility. I don't know what's going on there, but with Essential Media and other polls showing a considerable winning margin, it seems clear Newspoll has some maintenance to do. The feeling against Gillard is palpable - there is a level of dislike and hostility from the punters, the likes of which I've never witnessed.
