I am trying to get a piece of this in the current capital raising, so hopefully will be a holder soon.

Met with JR last week. He claims the recent purchase was an opportunistic one and the $100m of NPV value is on the conservative side.

You are probably right that the project is marginal currently, but I don't think the last results were in any way negative. They are about to put a 10m drill campaign in place on the back of those results and with a clearly articulated path to add value, then unless these guys are lying this looks like a good prospect to me if copper prices don't tank. They also claim this will be the last capital raising.
