What exactly is it that we are witnessing happening at Mt Kare?
Well firstly, historically we have a gold project that for 20 years seemed to be going nowhere in particularly with all sorts of problems.
It could have just kept going the same way but things changed at Mt Kare.
Why?
Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness and those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it, sometimes paraphrased as "If we do not learn from the mistakes of history, we are doomed to repeat them."
One of the remarkable things about the way the Mt Kare Project has progressed over the last 24 months is the very ordered steps all stake holders have taken to support and assist the development of Project.
This is a huge step forward generally for mining practice in PNG in terms of stake holder management and IDC has led this change.
This against a back drop in which over a mere 18 months IDC completed or near finalized:-
1. 7,500 meter diamond core drilling program
2. Pre-feasibility study
3. Metallurgical drilling and testing
4. Landowner study
5. Commencement of BFS
Anyone who’s ever been through this exercise would appreciate the enormous effort and energy required to get this project advanced through to these outcomes.
Now the best is yet to come with Tony Burgess and team on board hunting down the bonanza targets.
This is getting really exciting.
