"Best advice I can give is, open each mail every day, 'delete' anything useless instantly, then archive immediately."
That's what I do. I have a 'compulsive disorder' about my email boxes. The in/sent and deleted boxes have to be cleared each time I log on. It's usually the first task I do.
I don't run a business so I only receive about 5-15 emails a day. Not a major drama to keep on top of them. I only use my private email. Any unwanted subscriptions are 'unsubscribed' and I find the compliance rate is 99.99%.
Lately I've been getting several a week reminding me I'm a multimillionaire in the waiting. Some couple won so much money that they want to share it with me. An online casino that has some free betting money awaiting me. And some government official has millions waiting for me if I help him get the money out of the country through my bank account. I have read the best way to handle them is to ignore them and don't open them. Opening them just confirms the email account and then they'll flood it.
