SCPPA Withdraws From EnviroMission Solar Tower

The Southern California Public Power Authority has ceased power-purchase agreement negotiations with EnviroMission Ltd., an Australian company with plans to develop a unique 200 MW solar-tower project in Arizona. A number of SCPPA member utilities that had originally been interested in making a collective 102 MW purchase have reconsidered, causing the deal with EnviroMission to collapse. The company maintains that the $750 million La Paz Solar Tower Project is moving forward, with or without a PPA.
