CBA is considered to be a safe haven. So ironically, when risk sentiment worsens, the traders move out of the other big 4 which have lower P/E ratios and higher dividend yields, into CBA, increasing its P/E ratio and lowering its dividend yield. When risk sentiment improves, the reverse happens but it is less conspicuous, i.e. CBA goes down, or improves only marginally while the other Big 4 improve in leaps and bounds.
