trees thanks heaps for that, without doubt the best write up on that bike I have read and be assured I have now read about them to near exhaustion already.

Hot start problem not acceptable today but is tuning so I could tune that out myself.

Slow? Thats a problem, if i am to buy a bike of this kind and handling I don't want to thrash it all the time to go anywhere assuming i take to riding again with more enthusiasm than I expect.

Handling, sounds to me that if the track got fast and curvy the bike has the handling goods to power slide out of a corner with confidence but not the power to actually make it happen in those higher gears.

Your bike sounds great tress and this thread has been a top resource to evolve my thoughts on this purchase.

I might be better looking at a decently sized thumper with that lovely never ending torque on tap in the higher gears.

I once owned a 1988 model XR350...I wonder if the modern 250cc 4 strokes and this Husky also would have the same straight line acceleration as that bike...it was dead slow by 250cc 2 st standards but ok for fun riding.

Might need give the Husky a miss, shame as it was very shapely...cheers

    PS what year KLR trees?
