    Re your post which included;
    "I really don't understand why the Labor government in an election would want to talk about tax reform. It will give Abbott another opportunity to scaremongering. ..."

    You're probably right. Tony Abbott easily hijacked and corrupted the debate over the Carbon Tax and the MRRT. Under Julia Gillard's leadership the same would almost certainly happen again.

    As for Abbott leading such a debate, no-one would trust anything he has to say about tax reform since 63% are already concerned about how he would fund his version of an NDIS and Parental Leave scheme - on top of that $70b black hole.

    Pretty deflating really!

    We're lead by myopic, spineless, self-serving pollies who are afraid to tackle the major issues that threaten our future for fear it may cost them the PM's job.

    The irony is that people want our leaders to demonstrate constructive, responsible and visionary leadership

    Unless global conditions stabilise soon they may well have no choice because budget revenues will vaporise and leave mounting, unfunded liabilities!
