Haven't seen a research report in a while, good to see from firms other than RBS/Taylor Collison. I suppose they have to start somewhere and past history of Biota doesn't bode well with too bullish a valuation.
I am excited by Plumb's appointment, I really believe he can turn things around (admittedly I am biased as we are/were both bean counters interested in biotech :)
As I have said in the past, I think Cook was great with the science but not the business side. Plumb looks to be great with the business side from what he did with Inhibitex and if he is lacking on the science side, should be ok as we all know Biota are incredible in that area (I think the BARDA contract was mainly due to Dr Jane Ryan's work).
I think it was autosime saying that Plumb can get rid of Cook? I seriously doubt that as only the board can do that and Cook is part of the board which has his supporters and they are in the majority. So unless Cook steps down of his own volition or major shareholders put pressure to remove him which I doubt, I don't think he is going anywhere in the near-term.
