GENERAL: PCT: Wellington Government accommodation RFP outcome
In August the Government, through the Property Management Centre of Expertise
(PMCOE), sought proposals from the market for between 50,000 and 60,000
square metres of space for delivery between 2014 and 2017 in the Wellington
region.
Agencies within the RFP included Ministry of Health, Crown Law Office,
Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment.
Unfortunately Precinct has been advised that Bowen Campus has been
unsuccessful for this round of the Crown's requirements.
Mr Pritchard, Precinct's Chief Executive, said "the announcement by PMCOE is
a disappointing outcome for Precinct. However we remain very confident in the
potential of this site to provide government accommodation in the heart of
the parliamentary precinct at Bowen Campus", he said.
The property is 97% occupied predominantly by the Ministry of Social
Development whose lease runs through to at least March 2015.
