hinklestab, I do agree with you that the effort of David to challenge Goliath (in a pure business sense, please!) probably is not helping the SP of LYC.
On the other hand, I assume you're on hotcopper in order to get some information about how to invest your money (short, long, pension...).
I would be surprised if the Goliath's give a dam about you and me. Maybe, just maybe we can make a tiny difference to change the way the Goliath's are so comfortable to conduct their business. While I don't think this case will change anything fundamentally, I still think it's worth the effort.
For example, the recent challenge about changing high-speed trading on the ASX was certainly not initiated by the ones who have all the multi-million technical & political instruments (banks, investment firms, fund managers.. etc). I do believe that the Morgan Stanley controversy is an opportunity for all the Davids to be heard.
If no one complains about insider trading, high-speed trading, any market manipulation based on unfair political or technologically power... God (pick you own)help us - we'll be more and more at the end of the financial food chain.
