Fairfax Media witnessed a Concord real estate agent, Joel Hollis, being issued with fines totalling more than $3000, minutes after he oversaw a failed auction.
The maximum fine for trading without a licence is $22,000 for a company and $11,000 for an individual.
Three Fair Trading officers who attended an auction in Wellbank Street, Concord, approached Mr Hollis, who operates as Ray White Concord, to inform him he had traded without a licence since May. His company, Hollis Residential, was fined $2200 and he was hit with a $1100 fine personally. He declined to comment.
