I'm no engineer, but doesn't it seem risky to rely on a single large motor? Couldn't they instead use a number of smaller motors working together via some kind of gearing system to deliver the required torque, meaning less risk/consequences of failure? I'd assume they've ruled this out for whatever reason, but just curious...
