Lynas have the highest grade REE deposit (by a mile) outside of China. Its low in radioactivity (safe to handle) in a non frozen country with well trained work force (thats both Australia and Malaysia). Lynas have advanced infra structure in both countries with good port facilities, pre sold product and production about to start in the next days. The project is complete but still with room and plans evolving, with revenue around the corner at a P/E ratio that would make any business envious.
Your right, compared to GGG there is no comparison.
If I was looking for a good place bet other than Lynas I would look at PEK, ALK or NTU well before GGG. PEK has a huge resource ink a pro mining country with very low radiation ( high levels of radiation mixed in with REEs presents a big problem with safety and marketing issues and higher extraction costs all very daunting. ALK has good REEs and Gold. NTU has high levels of HREEs (as does Lynas Duncan) but NTUs jorc may be small when it comes. All Lynas, PEK, and GGG have very large Jorcs but there is a lot more to the REE game than Jorc size.
Anyway its not always about viability its about marketing and perception. If your directors can convince the market you have a goer you may well make money out of the SP regardless of future viability. Perhaps the project may even go ahead. But not many REE projects will. I very much doubt the 3 odd dollar production cost I saw mentioned. Anyway good luck, I wish all Aussie companies well. By the time GGG could get to production (several years) I will be long out of REE shares so Im not afraid of potential competition.
If the Danes and Greenlanders ever get a taste for nuclear power (I doubt it and I have permanent resident status in Sweden and the Danes hated the Swedes for putting a reactor within sight of DK) then GGG has more potential economically as a Uranium deposit. But there are lots of those around the place, WA where I live is covered in the stuff.
As I said good luck with it, the in ground value is there but can and will you be allowed to dig it up? And at what cost? $3 per kilo has to be a big fib, Greenland is one of the dearest places to operate on earth.
