I like it malmanu .... i currently work at one of the retailers , been there for 8 years ... this is the worst year by far and it seems HO is starting to panic. i like the idea of combining group (harvey group/NARTA) to compete against online trading but the issue of overheads still come into play with owning a store ... cull stores but keep a few in strategic locations , offer the full solution in store (ie you buy a stove , deliver it and have an installer install it)not a half job like it is atm , and combine buyer groups groups. if they do this they will survive.
Its tough out there , it's so bad i am jumping ship and i really hate changing jobs !
