I don't think I've ever had a winning trade that hasn't first been put through the ringer by shakeout merchants before any decent leg upwards.
You have to be more and more patient these days no matter how good the story, so you can turn the tables on them when the merchants of doubt wheel out their sell-bots and buy when they knock it down with the aim of triggering stops and shaking out small investors. Of course you need to have confidence in the company and it's likelihood of success to do this and so need to be well researched so as not to fall victim to their games.
If they were selling legitimately, do you think they would be throwing millions of shares at a lightly traded stock, send the price rapidly into reverse? Insto's closing a position try to encourage buying by marking it up and then slowly exit at higher prices with as little effect on price as possible. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the prophets of doom have an interest in lower prices.
