Biodynamic practices (using a lunar calendar to determine schedule of events) is a growing phenomenon in my field. I have spent a long time thinking, researching and discussing the merits as I am always learning and looking for new knowledge with a view to expanding my skill base and produce a better product.
I have come to the conclusion, although I will not stop questioning this or anything else, that any positive outcomes derived from biodynamic practices effectively amount to little more than attention to detail on the part of the practitioner. Whether you use a lunar calendar to structure events or some other scheduling tool it is arbitrary.
Those who believe will point to the positive outcome as proof but really it is faith based much like religion. If it works for you then great but in my experience the success/fail rates of biodynamics is comparable to conventional methodology. The biggest danger and I am referring specifically to my field is when people steadfastly allow things to stuff up because their belief won't allow them to intervene proactively. I'd rather be aware of and utilise every tool available to me as appropriate.
I suppose I have done nothing more than offer an agricultural example of what has already been said.
My two cents
